Renegades (RNG) is an esports team founded in 2015 based in the United States. Initially named Misfits, it was founded by Chris Badawi as a League of Legends team. They rebranded as Renegades some time after, with Christopher Mykles (better known as MonteCristo) arriving as co-owner. However Badawi got banned after trying to sign other NA League players through persuasive means. In 2016, Renegades were banned of any competition organized by Riot Games after trying to divert Badawi's ban through MonteCristo's presence, as well as non-respect of terms of the trades between Renegades and Team Dragon Knight. Renegades were forced to sell their League spot and MonteCristo ceded the ownership of the team to the Swedish basket-ball player Jonas Jerebko, at that time playing for the Boston Cletics, but now playing for Khimki Moscow. Following those events, Renegades entered many other esports since then and continued to develop their brand, notably with their FPS and TPS teams.

Renegades ventured into the Smash scene on October 6th, 2016 by signing Melee player Swedish Delight and Smash 4 player Dabuz, but they both left one year later and Renegades closed its Smash division. However, they opened it again on September 25th, 2019 by recruiting Ryuga and partnering Ryuga's crew, DMG Alliance. Ryuga was later dropped from the team at an unknown date in 2020.
