Teleport (テレポート, Teleport) is Mewtwo's up special move.

Overview

Teleport in Melee.

Mewtwo quickly vanishes and reappears in a different location, depending on how the player tilts the control stick. If it teleports into the air, it will fall in a helpless animation.

Teleport passes through attacks. If it is used quickly on the ground, it can be used in place of a sidestep or roll, as there is less lag time than those actions. The only way to travel faster with Mewtwo is its wavedash.

This third jump, along with its high midair jump, allows for Mewtwo's long and safe recovery. However, this move does not cause any damage to opponents.

Advanced techniques

Teleport can be used in a series of advanced techniques, which can be be viewed below.

Instructional quotes

instruction booklet   Teleport has a short range, but doesn't leave Mewtwo open to attack.
Move List   Warps instantly to another location. Directional input determines the destination.

Customization

Special Move customization was added in Super Smash Bros. 4. These are the variations:

1. Teleport
"Warp instantly to another location. Choose your destination by entering a direction."
  1. Teleport: Default.

Like the other DLC characters, Mewtwo lacks custom move variations (aside from the glitch ones in 1.0.6).

Use by other Pokémon

  • Abra can teleport other players to random places.

Origin

Teleport in Generation VII Pokémon games.

Teleport is a Psychic-type status move introduced in Generation I that automatically makes the user run away from a wild Pokémon battle. Using Teleport in a trainer battle will always fail from Red and Green to Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. In Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee! onward, it lets the user switch to an ally under a negative priority bracket. In the field, it teleports the trainer to the last Pokémon Center they visited. It is learned naturally by some Psychic-types, of which the most notable is Abra, which is difficult to catch due to Teleport being its only level up move.

It is TM30 in Generation I and TM04 in Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee!. Mewtwo can learn it with the aforementioned TMs, or by level up in Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee!.
