Janitor (born December 23, 1991) is a Canadian Smasher and a Tournament Director from Red Deer, Alberta, Canada and is one of the members of Teh Fair. Janitor is largely responsible for organizing the competitive SSBM community in Red Deer, Alberta as well as the Central Alberta Smash Tournament (CAST).
Etymology
Janitor was decided after a strange occurrence in Seattle when Janitor was visiting his mother. Janitor was in a barber shop with R.L.Prodigy and his family, when suddenly a hobo stepped in and claimed he was a janitor at the local university and asked for the [female] hair dressers in the salon if they wanted to go bowling.
Though, he goes by his current alias, Janitor is more commonly addressed, not be his first name, but an alteration of his first name, "Victra." Prior to his alias "Janitor" though, he was addressed by his classmates and his community as "The Asiantemptation."
Background
Janitor and his fellow crew mate Ring Master 1337 were dedicated Super Smash Bros. 64 players in their earlier days, but it wasn't until Super Smash Bros. Melee's release on the Gamecube that the two literally became infatuated with the game.
Janitor, though playing SSBM for 2 years after the purchase, didn't have a single clue about the game's competitive scene until late 2005 after reading a large article about the game in issue 195 of Nintendo Power, "Smash Planet". The article included such topics as SWF, Ken Hoang, MLG, rumors about a new installment of SSB, as well as a brief description of wavedashing. Totally unaware of what any of this was, Janitor decided to sign up on the SWF, thus discovering the competitive nature of the game and began to teach what he learned to his now crew mates.
A year after discovering the competitive scene, Janitor and Ring Master 1337 (Capt.1337 at the time) decided to host a Smash tournament in their city Red Deer in order to find more competition in Red Deer - because at the time, the only people in Red Deer playing Smash competitively were themselves. After advertising the tournament in the SWF and Nexopia (an Alberta equivalent of Myspace) they recieved tons of replies. To their surprise, people from outside the city came to participate. (FalseFalco, FastFox, RJM etc.) Though, extremely confident in the beginning, Janitor, as well as Ring Master 1337, soon realized that the game was more competitive then they thought and the two pushed each other even harder to match up with the Edmonton and Calgary players even to this day.
