Creating broken image links

This is the second time you have created a broken image link due to deleting a file without properly checking what pages use it. In particular, this file was used in the userspace and so I'm not sure if the replacement file looks the way that user would want it to on his page, so I'd also like to ask if the new file looks the same as the old one? In future can you please be more careful when you delete files. Alex the Jigglypuff trainer 07:46, August 30, 2019 (EDT)

To be quite frank, given that this wiki is a community effort, it shouldn't solely be my (or any administrator's) job to check to see if a speedy delete image (or page) still links elsewhere, since it's being marked for "get this out of the way ASAP". That is not to say that I won't check again in the future, however.
As for the image itself, replacing the image in the user's userbox with the currently active JPG doesn't change a thing, and the new file is, in fact, the same as the old one (just as a JPG instead of a PNG). Aidan, the Rurouni 10:38, August 30, 2019 (EDT)
And before a foul cry is made, I did bring back the image just to check, before fixing the broken image link myself. Aidan, the Rurouni 10:42, August 30, 2019 (EDT)
I'm not defending the behaviour of whoever tagged the file, but as an admin it absolutely is your responsibility to check yourself before you delete the file. It even reminds you to do this on the speedy delete template. Also, you say that like checking the file usage is a burden when the file page itself lists any pages which use the file, including user pages, so it really isn't that big a deal to just make sure that things like this don't happen. It is the admin's responsibility to make sure that a file is not used when deleting it. If it is, it is also the admin's responsibility to decide whether or not the file should be kept (in the case of it being used on userspace, it should), or deleted and the images removed. Given that this was a replacement for userspace, you probably should have just flipped it over yourself, or at least asked the user to. SerpentKing 11:22, August 30, 2019 (EDT)

Like I said, it shouldn't (in my opinion) be left up to solely us. But, given that we're the only ones who can actually delete images, I guess it's only fair. I'll keep a better watch next time. Aidan, the Rurouni 12:16, August 30, 2019 (EDT)

Talk

Hey there, Aidanzapunk. As an admin on this wiki, how are you enjoying your work so far? Juju1995 (talk) 22:41, September 3, 2019 (EDT)

It's not much, but it's honest work, as they say. Aidan, the Rurouni 23:42, September 3, 2019 (EDT)
You know, I've been helping out much here. I've added the image for the 1v1 multiplier article. Juju1995 (talk) 00:00, September 4, 2019 (EDT)

Hey! Just to let ya know, I'm recreating the Goemon page due to his appearance as a Mii costume in Ultimate. Shinobi76 (talk) 23:30, September 4, 2019 (EDT)

Don't tell me, just do it. I wasn't the one to delete the page, lol. Aidan, the Rurouni 23:35, September 4, 2019 (EDT)

Hey! Another issue. https://www.ssbwiki.com/File:Terry_Bogard_SNK.png has been giving me a insanely tough time with trying to remove the background. Any time I do that, the image on the page still has the background, and the one time the background wasn't there the proportions were all outta wack. Help me with this, please. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Shinobi76 (talkcontribs) 02:39, September 8, 2019 (EDT)

Normally, when you upload a new image, the cache isn't updated automatically; hard refreshing the page will fix the issue. Aidan, the Rurouni 03:53, September 8, 2019 (EDT)
