Trivia
It says that Wii Fit Trainer is the only character yo have names for all of their standard attacks, excluding throws and floor attacks. Doesn't Mega Man also fit this description? Veledwin1 (talk) 06:52, May 22, 2019 (EDT)
- That is true, I'll go and add it. Aidan, the Rurouni 11:09, May 22, 2019 (EDT)
Does anyone know of any other characters who have a move or projectile specifically that never stales? If not then we can add the header ball never staling to the trivia section Invy (talk) 10:22, May 25, 2019 (EDT)
Should we keep the names of the attacks in the infoboxes?
They literally are the poses, so there's no way they could be anything else. Awesomelink234, the Super Cool Sonic Fan Leave a message if needed 15:32, May 22, 2019 (EDT)
Agreed, considering that the game devs made a point of using specific Wii Fit poses in WFT's moveset, it certainly seems as though whether or not a tip just so happens to mention a certain move by name is just a technicality in this case. Additionally, Serpent King's complaint about use of outside sources isn't exactly valid considering that we have plenty of supplementary information from games outside of the Super Smash Bros. series. - "Outside sources" refers to those specific games outside the Smash series. We don't really care what a move looks like, whether it be Slit Edge, Shadow Claw, Braver, or something else - SW:OFFICIAL specifies not to just make up a name for an unnamed move ("In the absence of either an official name or a highly recognized fan term, such as most characters' normal moves, it is preferable to leave a name section blank than to "invent" a name for an unnamed move like Mario's down smash.") Aidan, the Rurouni 17:06, May 22, 2019 (EDT)
- I think you're missing the point. This isn't simply a case of a move looking like a move from another game. This is direct, consistent, deliberate and referenced 1-to-1 appropriation of the moves from Wii Fit. Alex the Jigglypuff trainer 17:14, May 22, 2019 (EDT)
- We understand that, but the moves are not officially named that in Smash Ultimate. Ergo, those names do not belong on this article. They may be officially named elsewhere, but not anywhere in Ultimate. As such, in accordance with SW:OFFICIAL, we should not be adding those names to WFT's article. Hinata (talk) 17:30, May 22, 2019 (EDT)
- (Edit conflict) That is the point: it looks like it. Regardless of how closely it matches, it still is made to look like it. Aidan, the Rurouni 17:32, May 22, 2019 (EDT)

I initially added all the names for moves looking specifically at the Wii Fit franchise to see what moves from those games were used, if that isn't a valid source for move names then idk what is Invy (talk) 10:18, May 25, 2019 (EDT)
To reiterate: regardless of how much a move resembles its counterpart from the character's home series - Slit Edge, Shadow Claw, Sonic Rocket, PK Love, Roll Attack, Flip Kick, even Mr. Game & Watch's entire moveset - we do not take names from sources other than the Smash games themselves, regardless of whether or not they are official Nintendo games. That is what SW:OFFICIAL states: "In the absence of either an official name or a highly recognized fan term, such as most characters' normal moves, it is preferable to leave a name section blank than to "invent" a name for an unnamed move like Mario's down smash." I am just going to drop this here........ - EndGenuity (talk) 12:36, June 10, 2019 (EDT)
It seems pretty absurd to me to feign ignorance to what are clearly 1:1 poses from the wii fit games; if there's literally no debate as to what the poses (which themselves are clearly and explicitly named) and thus the moves using those poses are called canonically, then why pretend that it's inaccurate to display the names on this page? Invy (talk) 19:31, June 11, 2019 (EDT)
But at any rate a consensus has to be reached, we can't keep flip flopping between including the names or not Invy (talk) 08:37, June 12, 2019 (EDT)
- The problem here is that her moves are explicitly Yoga Poses from the Wii Fit series. There is literally no difference between the random moves that have been name-dropped in tips and the like, and the remaining Yoga poses. It would be like if we weren't allowed to say that one of Pac-Man's up taunts is Mappy because there isn't a tip or an offhanded comment from Nintendo about it. Comparing this to things like PK Love and Shadow Claw is incredibly dishonest, and I'm surprised an admin would actually try to make such a blatantly poor comparison. Alex the Jigglypuff trainer 08:45, June 12, 2019 (EDT)
- I’m with you Alex, but I don’t think the exact resemblance to a game is the best argument. Wii Fit Trainer’s attacks are actually based on real yoga poses. They don’t just exist within the WiI Fit series. Normally, I’d agree to keep them off the page, but since these moves are based on real yoga poses, I think we should make an exception. It’s like saying that Villager’s Forward Smash isn’t a bowling ball. Lou Cena (talk) 12:19, June 12, 2019 (EDT)
Yeah I totally agree with you, but at the same time we can't make changes if not everyone is on board because that'll just lead to more issues in maintaining the quality of the page in the future Invy (talk) 09:59, June 12, 2019 (EDT)
Pronoun uniformity
We still have some discrepancies between the pronouns used on this page; in some places it's she/her and in others it's they/them. Can we come to agreement on the pronouns to be used to we can make the page more cohesive? invy (talk) 22:03, June 12, 2019 (EDT)
