He came to prominence for his consistently high rankings on the Meleenetplay ladder as michael41000, regularly going on long win streaks and securing a high ranking on several seasons of the ladder since 2015. He is currently ranked 2nd on the Chicago Melee Power Rankings and 41st on the 2018 MPGR. He had a breakout performance at Combo Breaker 2018 by placing 4th, taking wins on S2J, Nintendude, and Drephen.
