Snake

His official SSB name is Snake, not Solid Snake. Shouldn't this, then, be moved to Snake? - Pokemon DP

Good question... For other characters, we seem to go with names like Samus Aran and Fox McCloud because that's their names on their Melee trophies, even though on Melee's selection screen their names are just "Samus" and "Fox" both in the boxes' text and when the voice calls them out when you select them. With that in mind, it's not a bad idea to keep it as "Solid Snake" over "Snake" for now, and see if his trophy in Brawl is named "Solid Snake" to Solid-ify that as the name of the article. And even if it isn't, if there's any sort of appearance of any of the other Snakes in the series (Naked Snake, Liquid Snake, and Solidus Snake, I believe), Solid Snake would be useful to distinguish from all those. This is all just my reasoning... Erik the Appreciator

No, because there are 4 Snakes. Solid Snake, Liquid Snake, Solidus Snake, and Naked Snake (aka Big Boss). Also, should there be mention that he is one of the three sons of Big Boss, formed in the 'Les Enfences Terribles" Incident? Maybe in the main Solid Snake page (not his SSBB appearance one). But unlike Sonic, he's only been called Snake on the site. I think we should start having some sort of naming standards. --Trogga 14:13, January 14, 2008 (EST)

Well there's a good reason to call him Solid Snake since his secret taunts have him talking to his support team back in MGS1 which only Solid Snake did. --Akumaserge 16:27, July 30, 2008 (EST)

He is called Snake in the MGS series. Obviously you haven't played them. Liquid Snake is referred to as Liquid, Solidus Snake is referred to as Solidus, and Big Boss is Big Boss. If you are confused, buy MGS2. It's a great game. You will also find your references in it. B-52 (talk) 20:08, 5 August 2008 (UTC)

Also, when you beat Classic mode or whatever and the credits role, they list him as "Solid Snake". - Tara Star

RPG naming

FYI, RPG does not stand for Rocket-Propelled Grenade. From Wikipedia: RPG is a transliteration of РПГ, the Russian abbreviation of Reaktivnyy/Ruchnoy Protivotankovyy Granatomyot (реактивный/ручной противотанковый гранатомёт), "hand held anti-tank grenade launcher." —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rush378 (talkcontribs) 02:10, 20 October 2007 (UTC)

Where did you find this crap? Those are Russian names in the Russian language. Rocket Propelled Grenade is the American name. —Preceding unsigned comment added by B-52 (talkcontribs) {{{2}}}
RPG didn't stand for rocket-powered grenade at first. It ended up being a backronym when English-speaking users put English words to the letters. FyreNWater - (TalkContributions ) 20:07, 5 August 2008 (UTC)
What do you mean by backronym? Is it a foreign weapon? B-52 (talk) 20:26, 5 August 2008 (UTC)
An acronym is a word made of letters from abbreviated words, like S.S.B. for Super Smash Bros. A "backcronym" (or backwards-acronym) is a series of letters that people assign meanings to. Since "Reaktivnyy/Ruchnoy Protivotankovyy Granatomyot" meant nothing to English-speakers, they added the English words "Rocket Powered Grenade" to it. Tada. cardboard box?

source it or it's speculation. FyreNWater - (TalkContributions ) 00:12, November 4, 2007 (EDT)

I see that this section is old. I am sure that anyone who has this game knows about the box. 71.253.101.174 21:00, 5 August 2008 (UTC)

Trophy?

Is Snake a trophy? because in the first trailer, he was invited by his boss in the Brawl from (im guessing) his own world. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Christocracker (talkcontribs) 05:04, 22 December 2007 (UTC)

Well, the Off Waves worked on him. So yes. He's a trophy. Dorsha 03:49, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

Remote mine?

Where did this info come from? CoroCoro magazine? Magiciandude 11:29, January 12, 2008 (EST)

never happened thats his down-smash his down SPECIAL is the RPG from the second trailer. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Majora1000 (talkcontribs) 17:00, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

actually--his down smash is a planted proximity mine and his down special is remotely detonated C-4 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 199.190.174.106 (talkcontribs) 05:53, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

Another projectile

Snakes up b is a projectile when he lets go of it. Im not sure about hurting characters but it managed to snag me a smash ball.(Sorry I dont have an account so I cant sign my posts) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.187.58.194 (talkcontribs) 16:52, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

It does hurt other characters. It causes 6% damage. B-52 (talk) 20:28, 5 August 2008 (UTC)

Weight

I was just looking at the weight list, and Snake has been moved over King Dedede to Super Heavy. Has this been confirmed? (Benji Man) (talk) 13:57, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

Here is the link that shows the brawl weight list, [1]. It seems to have been tested and shows Snake as a super heavyweight. Although, I think King Dedede should weight more than Snake. Everyone take a look and see what you think is correct. --Danbatista (talk) 15:30, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

OK, I tested the difference between Snake's weight and Dedede's weight. Snake proved to be heavier, but the same test was done on Gannondorf, and he proved to be heavier than Snake. There could have been an error on that page. B-52 (talk) 20:43, 5 August 2008 (UTC)

ZSS

shouldn't we add that he has a love for zero suit samus. remember in his Codec conversation he said (about ZSS) "If I take off all this heavy gear I might catch up to her. User: Pik kid 20:29, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

yeah this is just my opinion but ZSS and Snake make a great team. One combo I found was that you can easily use ZSS's side special to knock your opponent into a mine, a c4, or snake's forward smash. Shade487z (talk) 00:43, 20 June 2008 (UTC)

Snake loves the ladies, nothing personal. - Gargomon251 (talk) 05:30, 20 June 2008 (UTC)

Snake does not have any romantic connection to ZSS whatsoever. Because he said that, it doesn't mean that he loves her, it's something called infatuation. Infatuation means that you are attracted to someone, sort of like having a crush on someone. B-52 (talk) 21:03, 5 August 2008 (UTC)

Is anybody aware that Snake has the best mullet in the world? BecAUse I, personally am aware.
