Jump Festa 2002 was an event held in the Makuhari Messe International Exhibition Hall in Japan late 2001. There was an official Super Smash Bros. Melee tournament among other events. The first place teams each got a trophy, and two copies of Super Smash Bros. Melee, the second place teams each got 2 GameBoy Advance games, and the third place teams each got two Melee-themed bandanas and Melee-themed stickers.

Note that there were actually four Doubles brackets, on December 22nd and 23rd in the morning and afternoon.

The tournament had a Doubles bracket in addition to a side event. The preliminaries were 2-on-2, team attack off, 2-minute time matches. The semi-finals may have used the same rules. The finals were 2-on-2, team attack off, 5-minute time limit, 2-stock matches.

The side event, dubbed the "Winning Brawl," was also free to enter and did not have a proper bracket. It was Singles free-for-all matches. If a player won two matches, they got a Melee-themed bandana. Additionally, some players obtained Melee T-shirts, possibly when bandanas ran out.

The four Finals matches from the four total brackets were recorded and later released on gold-colored GameCube discs at later Toys "R" Us tournament. The disc is known as "Game Taikai Yuushou Kinen - Tokusei SmaBro DX Movie Disc."
