Mango Mains or as id like to call it Maingo
Should would get rid of Jiggs or at least put her beneath Marth? --TheLegendaryKRB (talk) 21:22, 1 January 2014 (EST)
- I know he hasn't used Jiggs much recently, but one of the first tournaments Mango gained recognition at, Pound 3, was where he used primarily Jiggs, and as explained in the article, he's credited for Jiggs' movement from 6/7th on the tier list to 3rd. - This is why I think there should be a Former mains section in the Smasher template. --TheLegendaryKRB (talk) 11:03, 2 January 2014 (EST)
- He'll still occasionally pull out Jigglypuff in Doubles. PokemonMasterJamal3 (talk) 11:05, 2 January 2014 (EST)

Brawl
He may not play Brawl but it should be noted he uses Falcon in Brawl --TheLegendaryKRB (talk) 09:25, 24 January 2014 (EST)
- Why should there be notes on a game that he doesn't play? You kinda answered your own question. Scr7(talk · contribs) 11:38, 24 January 2014 (EST)

- Yes he did enter Brawl at GOML. That happened just today. My previous comment was nearly four months ago. Additionally, it was using a varied ruleset. Also, is that Smash 64 video a tournament match? Scr7(talk · contribs) 18:52, 10 May 2014 (EDT)

Why are you guys making such a big deal out this? In brawl Mango is just another average player. He just happens to be good at a different game.--BrianDon't try me! 19:47, 10 May 2014 (EDT)
I'm not surprised why you don't care. You hate Brawl. --Myth 19:53, 10 May 2014 (EDT)
- Yea I hate brawl. How should Mango playing brawl change that? Can he suddenly magically turn it into melee? No. Does it mean he likes brawl? No, someone paid him to enter. Mango hype only comes when he plays Melee. If I wanted to watch brawl for whatever reason, I should watch people who are good at the game.--BrianDon't try me! 19:57, 10 May 2014 (EDT)
- Then why are you even arguing? If you don't give a shit about Brawl then leave. --Myth 20:01, 10 May 2014 (EDT)
Saying "yes, he entered Brawl at GOML" is making a big deal out of it? Didn't say he was notable. Scr7(talk · contribs) 20:04, 10 May 2014 (EDT)
- Point was it isn't worth having a talk page over. Mango didn't take this event seriously and neither should you. --BrianDon't try me! 20:09, 10 May 2014 (EDT)
There is no other footage of him playing Falco in Brawl at any competent level. This is getting ridiculous. Just because he entered Brawl singles once as Falco doesn't mean it's his main, and certainly does not imply that he plays the game seriously. --Timson622222 (talk) 20:17, 10 May 2014 (EDT)
- So? Playing a game seriously means it shouldnt be noted as a main? From what ive seen there are plenty of smash pages on this wiki that have Melee players with incompetent Brawl mains still listed. --Myth 20:19, 10 May 2014 (EDT)
- The questions isn't if they are terribly good with the character in Brawl, but if it is their main. Some of the commentary leads me to think that he does consider Falco his main, but its legit to question it given what you've posted so far. We're not listing Zelda as Havok's other just because he played her once in this vid either. Clarinet Hawk (talk · contributions) 20:22, 10 May 2014 (EDT)

What Timson said. Playing any game just once doesn't make you a player at that game. Especially not if someone paid you to waste your time. --BrianDon't try me! 20:26, 10 May 2014 (EDT)
- Additionally, from what I've seen, many of the Melee players with Brawl mains listed had once taken the character to decent levels of play, and had given Brawl a chance as a competitive game. For example, Chillin's Snake wasn't the best, but he played solidly and considered Snake his main in the game; he even took him to Doubles GFs in MELEE-FC 10R and got 2nd place. --Timson622222 (talk) 20:33, 10 May 2014 (EDT)
- THEN WHY IS GIMPYFISH NOTABLE???!!! --Myth 21:11, 10 May 2014 (EDT)
Because Gimpyfish actually used Bowser consistently in multiple Melee tournaments. And furthermore put many hours into developing the character. He has also placed high consistently with Bowser. I don't know why you picked Gimpyfish of all people to use as a counter example. He isn't even remotely close to 1. Myth I will reiterate this 1 more time. Mango. Isn't. A. Brawl. Player. Stop treating him as such. --BrianDon't try me! 21:20, 10 May 2014 (EDT)
- Brian, Myth was referring to Gimpyfish being listed for Brawl on his page, not his Melee prowess. I agree with what you're saying, though, in regards to Mango and Brawl. PokemonMasterJamal3 (talk) 21:24, 10 May 2014 (EDT)
I was refering to Brawl Gimpy. Of course Melee Gimpy is notable. --Myth 21:25, 10 May 2014 (EDT)
- Gimpyfish made a combo video for Brawl Sheik titled the "Triforce of Style," and legitimately gave the game a chance and entered tournaments with Sheik by his own accord, even though he hated the game. Mango has literally done nothing notable with Brawl Falco until today, and he has lost to amateur players with him. If Mango entered Brawl side events consistently with Falco and did even OK with him, then yes, Falco could go in his Brawl main slot. But no, entering one tournament and losing to a handful of nameless players does not constitute Falco being his main. --Timson622222 (talk) 21:30, 10 May 2014 (EDT)
- To make another correction, Mango did use Falco in Apex 2010 Brawl crews and took the last stock from lain and one stock from Mew2King. This was almost 4 years ago, though, and definitely does not mean that Brawl should be added on Mango's page. PokemonMasterJamal3 (talk) 21:33, 10 May 2014 (EDT)

Bias
Compare this page with Mew2King's controversy section (which I'll admit has been cleaned up): Both of these pages are biased, but in entirely different directions. In Mango's case, the entire page is essentially lauding how "godlike" he is and how much he's achieved, with even a biography detailing his rise to fame. Mew2King's article is nowhere near as kind towards him and he's been playing for longer than Mango has. The "Trip to Japan" section deals with Mew2King's personal life more so than things related to Smash. If this is the case, why is there no section for Mango's widely known habit of getting drunk at tournaments? On top of that, there was also the whole AMA disaster on Reddit and probably other so-called "controversies" that he's been involved in. I'm not saying that those should be added to the article (nor do I believe they should be, since I think the whole controversy situation is getting silly) but the way Mew2King's article acknowledges his skill is rather halfhearted in comparison to Mango's. PokemonMasterJamal3 (talk) 09:09, 23 June 2014 (EDT)
- I am going to bump this, mainly because I feel very strongly about this: Why are controversy sections necessary? SmashWiki should not be a war zone between supporters of specific smashers, and I feel like having these sections only creates havoc. Serpent∞King (talk) 20:29, 10 September 2015 (EDT)
"Buster status"?
Is this some kind of slang? It doesn't seem very professional. Bflat (talk) 19:48, 2 February 2015 (EST)
- Mango used this to refer to himself during an interview after the match. However, it's not professional and shouldn't belong in the formal text. Awesome Cardinal 2000 20:02, 2 February 2015 (EST)
Play style?
I don't understand the meaning of this. Is it necessary/accurate? F0rZ3r0F0r (talk) 16:43, 16 May 2015 (EDT)
Brawl P2
So hes played Brawl at a few of nationals including GOML, Apex 2012(?)(crews only) and a number of locals as well. This is surely enough to include in the infobox?--Dinodomain (talk) 17:48, 10 September 2015 (EDT)
- This has been discussed on here already. No, it's not enough, because Apex 2010 and GOML were his only times playing Brawl since 2008, and his Brawl results back then weren't significant. PokemonMasterJamal3 (talk) 18:43, 10 September 2015 (EDT)
"Scorpion Master" vs "The Kid"
I think that the nickname above Mango's portrait should be changed to "The Kid". I may be wrong, but I remember hearing people call Mango "The Kid" a lot more than "Scorpion Master".
