SmashWiki:Administrators' noticeboard/Archive 12

The Administrators' noticeboard is intended to be a page to quickly alert the administrators to issues that need their attention.

To make a request or statement, create a new section and provide a neutral, precise summary of events with thought-out reasoning, and, if possible, links to any pages with relevant discussions. It is also a good idea to notify any users involved with the request with a link to the section on this page. Make sure to add new sections to the bottom.

Report vandals and sockpuppets at the top of the appropriate section labeled for such reports at the using {{IP|Username}}, where Username is the name of the user or the IP vandal's IP address.

For reporting similar and unacceptable usernames, report them here instead of on this page. This is done to keep the reports in one place, and because unacceptable usernames can be more subjective (unlike vandal/spam accounts), which may necessitate discussion (which the linked page will be more suited to handle).

Vandal/Spam account reports

Admin note: Please adhere to SW:QDV. Keep discussion to a minimum; an obvious bad-faith editor's record will speak for itself.

It's hard to say...This IP is close to Drilly's, but not within a decent IP range (it lingers just outside 70.197.85.68/16). The Impersonator Account (talkcontribslogs) and The Spam Account (talkcontribslogs)

I was paging through the block log because I can, and I found these two artefacts from the past. Neither of these accounts seem to be used anymore.

My point being, should we just mark these accounts as being deprecated or just leave them be? Neither of them really have a point now, since we just ban sockpuppets and spammers.

We could bring them back as well, but fuck that.

Quality of life gubbins.

Replace the unsightly Xs on this page with the standard X mark. Also remove the extra guff about Nintendo and Square, I don't think anyone here is enough of a plonker to think otherwise.

I would change this myself, but the page is protected so that only admins and bcrats can edit it (even though SmashPeter was editting it via IPs only...)

Bump. I know you read this.
--- Monsieur Crow, Author Extraordinaire, 19:39, 17 June 2016 (EDT)
The X marks were a bit nitpicky, but it did reduce the article size and helped standardize, so I decided to do it anyway. Not removing the actual fiction because the point of keeping the page in the first place "is... only to document his behavior on this site", which that certainly includes.  Nyargleblargle (Contribs) 20:59, 17 June 2016 (EDT)

correct info repeatedly deleted

On the Ice Climbers page, there is a section talking about their relationship. After listing all of the possibilities, it only gives evidence of them being lovers. The problem with this is Brawls Snake's Codec conversation about the duo. It is explicitly stated multiple times that they're siblings. Twice i have included this info and twice it was deleted. I don't know by whom as i don't know how to find out. I also don't want to add this again as i know it will be deleted and want to avoid an edit war.

Sincerely, Destructodon (talk) 18:27, 30 August 2016 (EDT)

See this. Never once does it state that they are siblings. Serpent   King 18:33, 30 August 2016 (EDT)
It does however say they have a strong bond, but a "strong bond" isn't limited to just siblings, so it could mean anything. If you're wanting to find out who's reverting your edits and such, look through the article's history and check the recent changes. Disaster Flare   (talk) 18:35, 30 August 2016 (EDT)
It never explicitly states that they're siblings, just that they have a strong relationship. There exist multiple relationships (fictional or not) where the two people aren't lovers, but they are willing to do anything for the other.  Aidan, the Wandering Dragon Warrior  18:38, 30 August 2016 (EDT)
Although, I do see where you're misreading it; it never actually states they're related, just that their relationship is akin to that of a brother and sister.  Aidan, the Wandering Dragon Warrior  18:41, 30 August 2016 (EDT)
