Greninja (ゲッコウガ, Gekkouga) has been confirmed as a newcomer in Super Smash Bros. 4, revealed during the April 8th, 2014 Smash-centric Nintendo Direct.

Known moveset

  • It uses its signature move, Water Shuriken, as a projectile.
  • Its side special, Shadow Sneak, can be used to vanish and ambush opponents.
  • It uses Substitute as a counterattack.
  • It uses a recovery move similar to Quick Attack, possibly Aqua Jet, where Greninja uses blasts of water to move him in two different directions.
  • It can blast water out of palms (may be a taunt).
  • It can create water blades to slash enemies with.
  • It uses its tongue as an attack, launching enemies upward.
  • An aerial stomp with one foot that goes straight down, possibly a down air.
  • Two aerial kicks that hit from behind, possibly a back air.
  • Swinging a watery sword forward in the air, possibly a forward air.
  • Slashing with two watery swords upwards while standing. This move hits twice.
  • Two hand swipes followed by rapid swipes ending with slap, possibly its neutral attack.
  • A forward slash with its arm while standing.
  • Trapping the opponent with a watery tornado, possibly a pummel.
  • A sliding kick.
  • A straight kick forward.
  • A Final Smash in which Greninja continuously slashes an enemy in the air while appearing as a silhouette, though its name is unknown.
