Her basic move set is the same as Peach's, but this princess has her own unique personality. She's known for being upbeat, energetic, and a bit of a tomboy.

Daisy (デイジー, Daisy) is a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. She was revealed as a newcomer alongside Inkling and Ridley from Nintendo's 2018 E3 press conference, on June 12th, 2018. She is an Echo Fighter of Peach. Daisy is classified as fighter #13ε.

Deanna Mustard's portrayals of Daisy in the Mario games, mainly Mario Kart Wii and Mario Kart 8, were repurposed for Ultimate.

Differences from Peach

Aesthetics

  • Change As with all Echo Fighters, Daisy has different taunts and victory animations.
  • Change Daisy has a more energetic idle stance, with her arms held up by her side.
  • Change Daisy has a different running animation similar to her running animation from Mario Party 10, though her initial dash animation appears to be unaltered.
  • Change A few other animations, such as her entrance, and the defeated/No Contest animation are different.
  • Change Daisy only has three unique idle animations, compared to Peach's four.
  • Change Daisy uses a Blue Toad instead of using a Red Toad for her counter and throws.
  • Change Daisy has flower and petal effects for her attacks, including her dash attack and back aerial, instead of hearts.
  • Change Daisy has more cheerful facial expressions, including winking, for many attacks.
  • Change Daisy's Final Smash, Daisy Blossom, is similar to Peach's Final Smash, Peach Blossom, except that it summons edible daisies instead of peaches, and is themed around herself.
  • Change Daisy is visibly (but only slightly) shorter than Peach. Whether this has any impact on her hitboxes compared to Peach is currently unknown.

Classic Mode: Sarasaland Represent!

Daisy's opponents mainly consist of royal figures.

Trivia

  • As an Echo Fighter of Peach, Daisy utilizes several abilities that are otherwise exclusive to Peach in the Mario series, such as floating, the use of a frying pan, using a parasol (although Daisy has her own unique colored variant of the Peach Parasol glider in Mario Kart 7 and Mario Kart 8, which can be used by all characters in the game), summoning a Toad, picking up turnips from the floor (although this is an ability shared by all four playable characters in Super Mario Bros. 2, including Peach), and putting people to sleep.
  • Many of Daisy's animations and artwork reference the Mario series:
    • One of Daisy's victory animations is reminiscent to her victory animation from Mario Golf: World Tour, while another references her victory celebration in Mario Tennis Aces.
    • Daisy's running animation references the Mario Party (series), specifically her running animation from Mario Party 10 onward, as she had previously used Peach's running animation in earlier Mario Party games.
    • Daisy's pose in her official artwork resembles a piece of artwork from Mario Tennis for the Nintendo 64, only mirrored.
    • Daisy's pose for one of her taunts matches promotional artwork of her first used for Mario Kart 7.
    • Daisy's pose in the group artwork for Ultimate is based on her back throw animation.
  • Daisy was the second newcomer announced for Ultimate. This marks only the second time a new clone character for a Smash title had been announced before the game launched, with the first being Lucina in SSB4.
  • Daisy is one of only two newcomers and the only Echo Fighter introduced in Ultimate to not have splash art and an introduction tagline, the other being Inkling.
  • Daisy is the only Ultimate newcomer revealed during E3 to not be playable in the E3 demo.
  • Daisy is the only Echo Fighter to be featured on the full version of the box art.
  • Daisy and Dark Samus are the only Echo Fighters to be cloned from female characters.
  • Daisy was the first character to be shown on the new victory screen.
