The Match Timer is an element that appears during a Time match in the series. It shows how much time it has during the match. The timer starts when the announcer says "GO!". When the timer reaches five seconds, then the announcer will start the final countdown and when it hits zero, the match is over and a winner is declared. If there is a tie when that happens, then Sudden Death will occur. Starting with Super Smash Bros. Melee, the timer disappears when there is only five seconds left. The timer can be adjusted between 1 and 99 minutes in the Rules section.
