Additionally, her dress is brighter in color and less pale. Her dress has also been redesigned to look a bit simpler, with less wrinkles and a bit less detail. Her hair color appears to be brighter and less pale than it was in ''[[Brawl]]'' as well. The ring on her hand now has an opal gem that matches her other blue gems: the broach on her chest and the one on her crown. The underside of her skirt is now darkened, obscuring her undergarments. Peach (ピーチ, Pīchi) is a playable character in Super Smash Bros. 4. She was confirmed on September 12, 2013,[1] the day before the anniversary of Super Mario Bros., the landmark game in which she debuted. She is among the first wave of compatible amiibo figures. Peach is voiced by Samantha Kelly with the same voice clips from Super Smash Bros. Brawl. [2][3]

While her moveset appears to be relatively unchanged, Peach has been notably buffed overall from Super Smash Bros. Brawl to SSB4. Her ground game has been particularly improved thanks to her stronger smashes, faster Peach Bomber and tilt attacks leading to many follow ups. Futhermore, her dash attack, forward aerial and back throw received significant increases in knockback, filling out her lack of finishing moves, a prominent weakness she had in Brawl. Likewise, Peach's approaches from below are safer with the gain of a new up aerial.

Custom 1 Sleepy Toad 0% Sleepy Toad comes out faster and releases bubbles to inflict the sleep status ailment for a brief amount of time to grounded opponents. Airborn opponents will be pushed back. Sleep duration lasts longer at high percentages. [4][5]

Custom 1 Flower Bomber 4% Flower Bomber travels on a much shorter distance than regular Peach Bomber. Opponents hit by it will be inflicted the flower status ailment. It deals less base damage (4%, down from 10%). [7]
Custom 2 Flying Peach Bomber 12% Flying Peach Bomber travels upward in addition of farther forward. It is harder to land, but it deals more knockback and damage (12%, up from 10%). [8]
Up special Default Peach Parasol 1-3% (hit 1), 1% (hit 2-4), 4% (hit 5) Peach Parasol allows Peach to perform an upward jump and simultaneously pull out her parasol, jabbing those above her in the process. It can then be used as a directional glide and opened or closed at will.
Custom 1 Parasol High Jump 0% Parasol High Jump greatly increases Peach's upward jump. However, she never opens her parasol, leaving herself helpless afterwards. [9]
Custom 2 Light Parasol ? Light Parasol decreases Peach's initial jump. However, she gains additional vertical recovery every time she opens up her parasol. This can be used up to four times while airborn. After the fourth time, Peach will become helpless. [10]
Down special Default Vegetable Vegetable is a projectile Peach can pluck from the ground as she does in Super Mario Bros. 2. She can then throw it. Its face determines how much damage it will do. Along with turnips, Peach can pull out various items ranging from Mr. Saturn to Bob-omb.
Custom 1 Light Veggie Light Veggie is plucked much faster (in a similar way to Brawl's Vegetable) while dealing less damage. It travels the air more slowly and farther ahead. It will also fly back toward Peach if it hits an opponent. The move will fail if there's already two light veggies out. [11]
Custom 2 Heavy Veggie Heavy Veggie takes longer to be plucked. It flies faster, but may not be thrown as far. It deals considerably more damage and knockback. [12]
Final Smash Peach Blossom 0-30% Everyone goes to sleep. Sleep duration is notably shorter than in Brawl. Three giant peaches appear, each healing 20%.

Taunts

  • Takes out and twirls her parasol. She says "sweet" as she does this.
  • Dances in a taunting manner as little music notes flutter around her. She sings a little tune similar to "Ring Around the Rosie".
  • Spins around once. She then winks and points with her index finger in a somewhat bent posture and says "Uh-huh!"

On-Screen Appearance

Appears spinning out of a shower of hearts, then winks and poses with her parasol saying "Hi!".

Victory Fanfare

A flourished remix directly from Brawl based on the sound clip that would play when Mario reaches the end of a level in Super Mario Bros. It is shared with Mario, Luigi, and Dr. Mario.

Peach's regular trophy can be obtained by completing Classic Mode and her alternative trophy can be obtained by completing All-Star mode.

NA Princess of the Mushroom Kingdom, Peach continues to prove that "powerful" and "cute" are not mutually exclusive. In Smash Bros., Peach uses her dress to float above the fray, suddenly descending and attacking with numerous weapons. A frying pan? Umbrella? TOAD?! Where does she keep it all?
PAL: The Mushroom Kingdoms's princess isn't just a pretty face - she's also strong and crafty. She can dodge attacks by gliding through the air, and she's hiding all sorts of stuff under that dress: a frying pan, a tennis racket, a golf club... even a Toad! If you're planning to take on Peach, just know that she's more than ready for you!
Peach (Alt.)
NA: Peach may be a princess, but that doesn't mean she shies away from an honest day's work. Her down special Vegetable is basically farm labor, and the fruits...er, vegetables of her work can be thrown. An angry-looking vegetable will do extra damage, too! She can also pull up Bob-ombs, or even a Mr. Saturn!
PAL: Peach normally sticks to tasks befitting a royal, but her Vegetable special is pretty much farm labour! You can tell how much damage the veggies will do by looking at them. Happy/indifferent ones do a bit, while the ones that look sick of life do a lot. And the ones that look like Bob-ombs or Mr. Saturn aren't veggies at all!

  • Fixed glitch where players pulling vegetables near the start of a online match would get banned for "cheating".

Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS 1.0.4

  • Fixed "instant turnip pull" glitch, which allowed Peach to interrupt the pulling animation by sliding off an edge.
  • Fixed "float-cancelling vegetable toss", which allowed Peach to interrupt a floated aerial's landing lag with an item throw.
  • Fixed how aerials performed while floating would not affect the stale moves queue.

Trivia

  • In the 3DS version of the game, a bug existed wherein using Peach's Vegetable move in For Glory mode would rarely trigger an automatic ban for "dishonest play".[13] It is unclear what the cause of the glitch was, but the main theories involve the player being flagged as having an illegitimate item. Nintendo acknowledged the glitch and released an update that fixed this issue.[14]
