: Sakurai did refer to him as a boss, and he's fought like a boss too. And has already hinted at other "stage bosses" making appearances. I think it should be labeled a boss here, but I don't really feel that strongly about it. Yellow Devil

Someone keeps adding the Yellow Devil to this template and I can't understand why. Just because Sakurai uses the term "boss" to refer to it doesn't mean it suddenly fits our definition of "non-playable character that appears as a stronger-than-usual opponent in specific circumstances in one-player modes". Claiming that the game "handles boss battles differently" is also unsubstantiated; the Yellow Devil is mechanically a combination of two stage hazards (the Banzai Bill from Melee and the checkpoint from Green Hill Zone) and doesn't have anything special about it otherwise. Sakurai did refer to him as a boss, and he's fought like a boss too. And has already hinted at other "stage bosses" making appearances. I think it should be labeled a boss here, but I don't really feel that strongly about it. Put it up to vote, maybe? Lasifer MaskedManSignatureSprite.PNG 14:52, 12 April 2014 (EDT)
