Bowser (クッパ, Kuppa) will be a playable character in Super Smash Bros. 4.

Confirmed information

Out of all of the returning characters seen so far, Bowser appears to have changed the most:

  • He stands upright as opposed to his hunched-over posture from previous games.
  • He has a new dashing animation where he runs upright instead of scuttling along the ground.
  • He appears to have multiple new attacks, such as a two-footed dropkick, a dashing kick, and an aerial attack where he spins his limbs vertically.
  • His down tilt doesn't have a scratch effect.
  • Bowser Bomb now has a larger hitbox.
  • In addition, looking close, his model appears to have a visual effect, making the scales that cover his body more noticeable.

Aside from these changes, Bowser's forward tilt, down aerial, Fire Breath, Flying Slam, and Whirling Fortress appear unchanged.
