Bulbapedia says that a Pokémon's species is a name which identifies the Pokémon based on one of its defining biological characteristics, which is separate from the real-world concept of a species. Pikachu's species is Mouse Pokémon, not Pikachu. :The Bulbapedia article on 'Species' specifies it as that way, because the Pokédex has a sub-section called Species, giving the Pokémon these titles. However, these are little more than secondary names, as the fact of the matter is that all Shellder are of the Shellder species. It'd be like listing Mario's species as Plumber. In infoboxes on Bulbapedia, they put these titles as their species, because the infobox is referencing its 'species' from the Pokédex. But this ain't Bulbapedia, it's SmashWiki, and all we use the species section for is to specify a character's general species. Using these sub-species titles on the Pokémon articles would cause for a great inconsistency amongst all the other articles which list a character's true species. It appears that dots has edited every Pokemon's page (except Lucario's) to say that there species is who they are. Would it be Ok to change Lucario's page?ChuckNorris 19:43, 9 July 2012 (EDT)
