'''Plup''' is a [[smasher]] from Florida who is considered to be one of the best [[Melee]] players in the world. He is considered one of the two best {{SSBM|Sheik}} players (along with {{Sm|Mew2King}}), a top {{SSBM|Fox}} player, the best {{SSBM|Samus}} player in the world, and one of the best {{SSBM|Luigi}} players in the world. He has had strong placings in nationals, such as 1st at [[GENESIS 5]] and [[DreamHack Atlanta 2017]], 2nd at [[The Big House 7]], 3rd at [[EVO 2016]], 4th at [[CEO 2016]], and 5th at [[EVO 2017]], [[Smash Summit 2]] and [[Smash Summit 3]]. He is also the second player in competitive ''Melee'' history to have taken a set off of each of the [[Five Gods]], after defeating {{Sm|Armada}} at [[The Big House 7]]. He is also a strong doubles player, frequently teaming with {{Sm|Hungrybox}} to great success, and more recently teaming with {{Sm|Mew2King}} to take 1st at Genesis 5 doubles. He is currently ranked 2nd on the [[Florida Power Rankings|Central Florida Melee Power Rankings]] and 5th on the [[2017 SSBMRank]].

After [[Apex 2015]], Plup made the switch from {{SSBM|Samus}} to {{SSBM|Sheik}} while still using Samus as an occasional [[counterpick]]. Plup also has demonstrated his competence with other characters such as {{SSBM|Luigi}} which he used exclusively at [[CEO Dreamland]], defeating {{Sm|Nintendude}} and {{Sm|Druggedfox}} and placing 5th to give the character its best placing at a major. He also managed to place 3rd at CFL Smackdown 72 by playing exclusively {{SSBM|Young Link}}. In addition, he won the tournament Frame One in 2016 using only Fox, defeating {{Sm|Wizzrobe}}, {{Sm|Axe}}, and {{Sm|Colbol}} in the process.

Plup is also a professional ''[[Project M]]'' {{PM|Samus}} player, and also plays {{PM|Meta Knight}} and {{PM|Sheik}} occasionally in both singles and doubles. He took 1st place in [[CEO 2014]] ''Project M'' doubles with fellow Florida smasher Wizzrobe.
