The Match Timer is an element that appears during a Time match in the series. It shows how much time it has during the match. The timer starts when the announcer says "GO!". Starting with Super Smash Bros. Melee, the timer disappears when there is only five seconds left and when that happens, then the announcer will start the final countdown. The match ends when "TIME!" is called and if there is a tie, then Sudden Death will occur. The timer can be adjusted between 1 and 99 minutes in the Rules section.
