Special Smash

It has been suggested that this article should be moved to Special Smash. The reason given for the move is: That particular title for the mode is also general enough that it can be taken as a broad term for all variants, such as with the Past Stages page. (Discuss)

The many different options of a Special Smash

Special Modes are versus modes available in Super Smash Bros. Melee, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. Although it does not appear in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS, many of the Final Battles in Smash Run enable one of the options seen in Special Smash; additionally, voice clip 83 of the announcer in the sound test is of him saying "Special Smash", which may be a leftover from the Wii U version. In the latest update in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, one can put special matches in an online battle by pressing Y after choosing the rules, backing out to the main menu, and then going online.

In Melee, Special mode is only played with one special condition at a time.

Special Brawl and Smash

Unlike Melee's Special mode, where only one special condition could be played at any time, Special Brawl and Special Smash allow several options to be applied at the same time. One can even play without any options, and simply play a normal match where records are not recorded.

• Size: Mega/Mini
• Head: Flower/Bunny
• Body: Metal/Clear/Tail/Rocket Belt/Screw/Back Shield
• Status: Curry/Reflect
• Gravity: Light/Heavy
• Speed: Slow/Fast
• Camera: Fixed/Angled

Matches played in this mode do not count for statistics or the completion of some challenges.
