:There's no particular reason to make this change. In addition to the fact that it would create inconsistency across different Pokemon pages, it contradicts how the games themselves refer to the Pokemon. For example, Chansey's Melee trophy uses "it" even while discussing the 100% female nature of the species. Aside from [[Event 25: The Aura Is With Me|rare goofs]], this is highly consistent across official sources. (If that wasn't enough, Bulbapedia also changed its policy to strictly using "it" for species, restricting "him"/"her" for individual Pokemon with known genders.)
