Solaris is a Samus player from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. He is currently fifth in the Edmonton Melee Power Rankings, and has attended several regional tournaments including ADAT, CT4, You.Three, and ADAT2, as well as the nationally recognized CAST4.
Melee
Solaris is known for swiftly converting to Melee shortly after reaching third on Alberta's Brawl Power rankings, seeing Brawl's metagame as stale and unrewarding. At first, his progress in Melee was static: frequently he placed poorly at many small tournaments. However after getting a taste of various professionals at CAST4, he started to pick up the pace, placing 13th. Since then he is steadily improving, partially due to the highly active smash scene in Alberta.
In addition, Solaris attended CT1 at the age of ten, teaming with Fastfox.
Solaris and Mach5 are in a rivalry for the best Samus player in Alberta.
Brawl
Solaris has essentially quit Brawl, although he still attends tournaments for fun, solely using Samus. His playstyle is known to be extremely obnoxious, often letting the timer run to zero or excessively grabbing the ledge just under the legal planking limit.
