The Chozo Statues are statues of the humanoid bird-like race, the Chozo. They have been featured in almost every Metroid game, extending their long arms that usually hold out upgrades to Samus's Power Suit. Some Chozo statues come to life when Samus goes into Ball-mode in their hands, taking Samus to another area or giving area maps to her suit. These helpful statues are not to be confused with the identical looking Torizo, sentinel statues that come to life and attack Samus.

In Super Smash Bros. Melee, a single Chozo statue sits in the background of Brinstar. It sits with its arms extended and its hands outstretched, like it was holding a power-up item. After about a minute, the statue will come to life and stand up, walking a brief distance before turning around and sitting back down in its original position. The process is repeated every minute until the match ends.
