Initially known as a successful player in Japan's online scene, he broke out in the offline scene with his 9th-place finish at the Golden Week supermajor {{Trn|Maesuma TOP 12}} with wins over {{Sm|MuteAce}}, {{Sm|Ron}}, and {{Sm|Umeki}}.
