The official European tier list is a tier list for Super Smash Bros. Brawl that is based on the metagame of the competitive Smash scene in Europe. Unlike in Melee, there are no real in-game differences between the PAL and NTSC versions of Brawl. However, due to differing metagames, rulesets, and mentalities, the tournament performance of characters in the Europe scene has been different from their performance in the North American scene. This difference is enough so, that European players felt that they should create their own tier list.

The best players and theorists from a variety of European countries were asked to vote, where their votes were then tallied up and averaged to create the list. The score listed in the tier list was the character's average rank in the voting.

Differences from the Brawl Back Room's tier list[edit]

The European tier list has only slight differences from the BBR's official tier list. Most notably, Diddy Kong is in his own tier below Meta Knight, and above all other characters. Fox and Peach were bumped up to high tier, thus making them ineligible to be used in mid tier tournaments in Europe. The middle tiers are more balanced in the amount of placement in them, Olimar is ranked significantly lower, and Ganondorf is in his own tier below all other characters.

Please note that the names of tiers differ between the NTSC and European tier lists.

For specific rank differences from the current BBR tier list:
