Deletions

While I appreciate your help, please note that deleting a page really should be the last resort. If it can be cleaned up, redirected, merged, or added to, then it should be done. Character pages need to be edited

Hi, I've been looking at some of character pages and I'd like to know how they're regulated. It also looks like there's been some vandalism, especially in the "Pro" and "Con" sections. For example, the Toon Link character page is extremely unbalanced and it looks like it needs a lot of revising. I put up what I think is a possible solution to the sysop nomination situation. Randall thinks that we should just end the whole thing. IP's of User Accounts

Is there anyway to get the last IP address used by an account. I know that it automatically bans the last IP when I ban a user, but my crew has been experiencing some harassment from multiple accounts and on other sites (i.e. youtube). User:Shadowcrest/policy

As a sysop, I expect you to be interested in benefitting the community- and I wholeheartedly believe that the implementation of all of the proposed policies/other administration-related things listed on that page would benefit the wiki. It would be greatly appreciated if you would point out any issues you have with any of the things listed on that page, and whether or not you think any or all of them should be implemented, and if not, why not.

Of course, I realize you have a life and other things to attend to- I don't expect this to be completed overnight ;)

I think there's a difference between telling me to cool down and stating that I suffer from contempt for this wiki and its inhabitants. I have nothing personal against anyone here. I can count the people that I wouldn't trust myself to make unbiased judgments against on one hand, and none of them are here. I do think this wiki could use help in some areas, and that's why I'm here and that's what I'm trying to do. Nothing more. Looking back, I realize that that post was more inflammatory than I wanted it to be. I just wanted to make it very clear why I was opposing Charitwo and possibly enlighten others who would listen, especially since I knew everyone would go "lolbias" once they saw me switching to oppose. By that token, if you decided to ban me for a day, I won't be offended or anything. I wouldn't agree with it or like it, but at least I would understand it. I think that, as we've just seen, the move function is too powerful to let any random user use. I honestly don't have an opinion either way. I've grown to enjoy the thought of IPs and newbies being able to contribute in as many ways as they think they can, but I also see the benefits of disallowing it (after all, I am originally from WoWWiki, which disallows IPs from editing...).

Um, what exactly is the logic behind turning List of stages into a redirect? It's one of the subpages that shows up on Google if you type in "smash wiki". Videos

Hey Sky. I wanted to give you a heads up on a new project that we, the Wikia Gaming Team, are starting. I'm going to the top gaming wikis and adding relevant videos (from YouTube) to a few of the most popular/visited articles. We'll be tracking their usage to find out if it could be an extra enhancement that people will use (ie. a new widget). I noticed that SmashWiki has a Videos category, but the videos on the articles are (externally) linked to. What I wanted to ask is if it would be ok to change the videos from external links to embedded, so that we can track the usage. Wikia has a custom code for embedding YouTube videos - <youtube>VideoID</youtube> - and with the videos being embedded, people won't have to leave the wiki to watch them. I understand your concern about the videos. Obviously not everyone will welcome them. This is just something we're testing right now at the top 25 gaming wikis, so if you guys prefer not to participate in the test, that's no problem. I'll take your suggestion and contact the other 2 currently active admins about it and invite them to add to your feedback on my talk page. By the way, the dimensions of the embedded videos can be scaled down with the youtube code. So if someone wanted to display the video at a smaller size (to take up less page space), he could edit the width and height in the youtube code. Example:

I am fed up with Blue Ninjakoopa and his attitude towards users. Go to the RfR pages, and check the history, then read how rude and offensive he was to me and Toon Ganondorf.
