I think that, surprisingly, "cheap" is worthy of an article. Discussion of what techniques are "cheap" (or, thanks to Sirlin, whether cheap even exists) have been prominent in the Smash community. What's cheap and what isn't is one's own thoughts. You can't write a deffinative list of "cheap" tactics and such.

Well, yeah, I know that, but isn't the slang term "cheap" used in reference to techniques that generally glitch up gameplay, giving you an unfair advantage? Examples are some there: Ness's YYG Infinite Range, Soulbreaker, IC Freeze Glitch. Button Mashing... is just randomly pressing buttons. That's not going to do much. Cheap Final Smashes...

Nearly all the "Cheap Final Smashes" are only "cheap" if the character you're using can't jump, like Ike or Wolf or something.

As for Super Sonic, well, that's probably only strong point of Sonic other than his "Combing ability", otherwise he's rather pathetic. Cafinator (talk) 13:56, 25 August 2008 (UTC)

Some Final Smashes ARE cheap. Trust me. My friends and I first played with Smash Balls, but one of them uses Wolf. And everytime he used his Landmaster it was simply impossible to escape. Even constantly edgehogging doesn't help because he simply falls with the Landmaster and knocks me against the stage resulting in a stage spike KO. Now we always play without any items even on 4 player free for alls (in 1vs1 we always turned items off). Xeze (talk) 14:05, 24 October 2008 (UTC)

edge guarding

Although neither are "cheap" at a competitive level, there's often a big misunderstanding between "edge guarding" and "edge hogging." Edge guarding isn't cheap, that's the whole point of the game: knock your opponent off the edge and do what you can to prevent him from getting back to the stage...by guarding the edge. --RJM ^Talk 15:39, 11 October 2008 (UTC)

Examples

Since this is subjective (in layman's terms: one man's combo is another man's pet peeve), we will not be listing examples. It leads to edit wars, flaming, and all sorts of issues. We all have different opinions, so there is no "official" list of what's cheap and what's not.
