Eddie Mexico, despite having lost in recent tournaments and getting 2nd behind Bimbo Mexico, had a good Winners bracket run, defeating Alvin (2-0) In Winners Quarters and Fist In Winners Semis (3-0), until meeting in Winners finals against the 2nd Seed Bimbo, where he lost in a convincing (3-1),With Bimbo waiting in Grand finals and Eddie being sent to the Loser brackets, he had to play the winner of Fist and Navso, Being Fist a Top player of Tijuana, and Navso a Sheik who didn't attended many local tournaments, Fist knew about how good navso was despite never seeing him in tournament because of his win over GuzBallz (2-1) the number 4 ranked player in Tijuana and Lalo a new school Jigglypuff from Brawl (2-1), After a really close set, Navso came up on top in a nail-bitting Game five and proceeding to Losers finals where he meet Eddy Mexico,
Eddie getting the edge in the battle won with a convincing (3-0) Resulting in Navso getting 3rd place, after this it was revealed that navso is a top Sheik player from Navojoa, Sonora.
Eddie facing Bimbo in a Winners Finals Runback, this set went down as one, if not the most intense grand finals in Tijuana tournament history, Eddie winning the first set, coming back from a (2-1) deficit to close set #1 of grand finals in a last stock game 5 with % deficit in a tech chase Shoryuken off the highest platform in battlefield with one of the most hyped crowed and reaction EVER, Going into Set #2 Eddy and Bimbo had a level of mindgames hard to explain that was also hard to understand, knowing each one's habits and exploiting them it was a set of pure adaptation and determination, Eddy going up (2-0), Bimbo winning a game on Pokemon Stadium (2-1) and then Eddie finishing the Game and Set #2 with a F-tilt - Edgehog in Final Destination to take the tournament.
Smash 4 also marked the First time Cpt. z0mfg Won a tournament in Tijuana, despite being a top player of Baja california, he had trouble defeating AC in bot Arcadia Games Tournament and Tijuana @ War held by XTR. Getting 2nd place after him.
Losing in winners finals Vs. AC, Winy had to defeat Chaplin in losers final who took the place of his teammate IC because of an unexpected soccer game. Resulting in Cpt. z0mfg Victory in a quick (3-0) against Chaplin Mega-Man And Captain Falcon in a close ditto.
Going to Grand finals from Loser brackets, AC used a variation of characters being these: Ryu, Sheik and Meta Knight agains the solo main Captain Falcon, With z0mfg winning solidly set #1 (3-1), going into set #2, AC started with metaknight, losing the first game decided to switch for sheik where he lost having a % lead of almost 100% after a downair read, spiking him. Going into game 3, he won in town and city (2-1), last game same thing as the 2nd game happened, AC winning by almost a 70% lead was downaired after a read, spiking him and getting winy up (3-1) and closing the set, also marking the first time he won in tournament against AC with a convincing performance.
This tournament was also important because of a local player, a Brawl Veteran and R.O.B main EZ getting 4th place in a tournament where all top 10 (except for Rival attended, getting a higher place than TKD,Chaplin,Walker,Lalo,TwerkMSTR,Ivan and Esteban.
Being sent earlier to the Losers Bracket by Cpt. z0mfg (2-0)
He had one of the best losers brackets run defeating top players incluiding: Lwyz (2-0), Walker (2-1), TWERKMSTR (2-1) and Lalo (2-1), before losing to IC (2-0) and getting 4th place.
Proving that a non ranked player can compete among the ranked playrs.

The white controller amateur price
The white controller amateur price was a bonus price added by Team Shockwave MX where the dynamic consisted in giving the price to the non-ranked player who could reach further in the bracket, being Navso the winner by reaching 3rd place overall.

Smash Blast was the first regional tournament of Team Shockwave MX tournament series directed by Erick Guzman and Issac Cervantes. It was held in Cesun Universidad, located in Tijuana, Baja California on July 11th, 2015. Like previous tournament of TSMX, Smash Blast hosted Super Smash Bros. Melee but this time they introduced Super Smash Bros. for Wii U to their tournament series, being the first SSB4 regional in Tijuana. It was the largest SSB4 tournament of all time in Tijuana with 85+ entrants.

Smash Blast was officially sponsored by Cesun Universidad and Arcadia Games. Among the results of this sponsorship Cesun Universidad provided with setups, microphones and the venue, alongside Arcadia Games which provided the 1st place prizes for both Melee and SSB4, being a sealed Wii U Super Mario 3D World bundle and a sealed Nintendo 3DS XL. Cesun also provided the top 5 winners with some "goodies" and the Internet connection used for the livestream of both games.
