I mean, if we did move to Discord, there is a chance we'd get more people, but one thing I feel is necessary to point out is that Serpent King at one point tried to put together a SmashWiki Discord and that fell through. What it boils down to, quoting something Toomai said one time, all the arguments boil down to are "Discord is new and improved" while "the IRC is well-established and popular". New doesn't always mean better, and, as someone who uses Discord, I still don't think Discord's good enough for a new SW IRC yet. *Why do the IRC and Discord have to be mutually exclusive? We can keep both around for now, and they can serve different purposes. IRC can be a casual, general chat that's easy to log and access (and we could even link it to a general chat on Discord through an IRC bridge bot if need be), and Discord can be for more specialized discussions. Just my two cents.
