As a Poké Ball Pokémon

Beedrill makes its first, and so far only, appearance in the Super Smash Bros. series as a Poké Ball Pokémon in Super Smash Bros. It uses the move Take Down; when Beedrill is summoned, a single Beedrill will fly off the screen. A couple of seconds later, a swarm of Beedrill will fly horizontally across the screen. Any character that makes contact with Beedrill will take minor damage and knockback, excluding the summoner.

Beedrill did not return in any following game, but Unown in Melee attacks in a similar fashion.

Beedrill is a Bug/Poison-type Pokémon introduced in Generation I. It evolves from Kakuna at level 10, which evolves from Weedle at level 7. It also received a Mega Evolution in Generation VI.

Take Down is a Normal-type move with 90 base power and 85% accuracy which deals to the user 1/4 of the damage inflicted as recoil. Beedrill can learn it with TM09 only in the Generation I games.
