When fighting bosses yesterday with Wario, I noticed his f-smash was dealing half or less the damage against Rayquaza, and up aerial was significantly outdamaging it. According to your moveset table, both of these moves have the normal effect, but this can't be with how little damage f-smash was dealing to Rayquaza. :Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Can you reproduce this with other characters that have f-smashes and up aerials of similar damage and same effect (not necessarily Normal, just identical)? == Edit Summary Code (Suggestion) ==
I know this isn't necessarily how things like this are done, but I wanted to see if an admin would think this is a good idea first.
Basically, what I've been thinking is that Edit Summaries can be rather confused or non-existent when it come to what the edit actually is. So, what I've been thinking is adding a sorting prefix to edit summaries, either mandatorily or voluntarily, to identify the type of edit, and if the edit is "Important" or "Doubtful". It wouldn't really have to be complex - a simple Three Initial Letter system like this could be employed:
:DAT: Data Added
:INF: Information Added
:REO: Reorganisation
:-INF/DAT: Removed Information/Data
:COR: Correcting Falsehoods
:CLA: Clarifying article/wording
:TAG: Added any tag
Suffixed by, if necessary,
:?: Unsure/Doubtful Edit
:!: Important Edit
I can't really tell if this sort of thing would be useful or no, so... yeah, I'm asking here. ScoreCounter 11:58, 26 May 2014 (EDT)
:I think you're trying to solve a problem that doesn't exist. Sure, an edit summary of "added stuff" isn't exceptionally helpful, but "INF" or "INF: added stuff" doesn't seem any more so, and to an inexperienced user looks even more confusing. :: True, but... I dunno. It's more like, people just think that the automated "Edited Section X" is all that's required. What I'm thinking is that, say, if someone added something to an article based of an POTD caption, but was unsure if that was what it meant, they could write "INF?", indicating it's info that needs checking. And, it encourages Edit Summaries by making them concise. If I constrict Recents to Mainspace, There isn't many actual written summaries, with some being throwaway comments. To simplify, when SSB4 gets a data wave, it makes edit checking priority sortable - "INF?" > "INF" > "TAG", for example. But, yeah, just a throw-in idea. (Oh, and consistency's nice.) :::If the intent here is to improve the frequency and quality of edit summaries, I think we should encourage detailed explanations as opposed to cookie-cutter codes. == About technique pages (wavedashing/L-canceling etc.) ==
Hey since you're a b'crat I figure this is a good place to ask this. So I find it odd that the wavedash page is titled "wavedash" yet the l-cancelling page is titled L-Cancelling, and then there's Dash-dancing, tech-chasing, yet the glide toss page is just "glide toss", chain grab is just chain grab, powershielding is just "powershield", etc. I feel like there should be some continuity and we should stick with one or the other, otherwise how can we differentiate when a page should end with -ing and shouldn't? Additionally, is it okay to add pages for PM exclusive techniques like Consecutive Moonwalking and Aerial Glide Tossing? Oh and just one more question- I feel like alot of these should have the unofficial tag on them, I know it's common terminology to say moonwalking is moonwalking because everyone calls it that, but Nintendo, the official source, never recognized the term or the technique, shouldn't there be an unofficial tag on those? <span style="background:#CCFFFF; border: 2px solid blue; font-family:Verdana;"><FONT COLOR="black">Nullatrum • ノラトラーン</FONT> <FONT COLOR="blue">-</FONT> <FONT COLOR="black">Talk • タック</FONT></span> 23:49, 5 June 2014 (EDT)
:As long as the page names are nouns, it's not too much of an issue whether it's an "-ing" noun or not. Lack of consistency with them is probably mostly a grandfathering issue, as not many people want to go through changing a bunch of pages to a name that is no more or less correct.
:As the policy currently stands, the Project M debate says that nothing other than characters get independent pages.
:If those pages don't have the unofficial tag/icon, then they're probably just overlooked, and you can go ahead and add it. Toomai Glittershine The Chronicler 00:09, 6 June 2014 (EDT)
