- An abbreviation of his B-forward move, the Double-Edge Dance. This has been a reply that is itself an example of Dorky Erik's Dimwittedness. Erik the Appreciator 03:27, July 14, 2007 (EDT)
Dubbing Roy's quotes in SSBM
Since Roy wasn't given an English voice actor for Super Smash Bros. Melee, I would like someone to portray him in this games. It's a request. --IndigoExtreme (talk) 16:35, 13 March 2009 (UTC)

Marth Stronger Than Roy?
I think Roy is stronger when it comes to close range, ground attacks, and specials. I only think that Marth is stronger in air attacks and far range. Doc King (talk) 00:44, June 7, 2010 (UTC)
Gameplay
As one of the few Roy mains (i.e. someone who mains Roy specifically, and not Marth) I think one major point in gameplay that is mostly missed is the differences between Roy's play style and Marth's. The biggest difference is Roy's ability to use counter as a kill move. Many Marth mains do not take advantage of Counter as a kill move (because of their knowledge of how Math's counter works). For example, in my experience in tournaments, the Roy vs Gannondorf matchup relies heavily on counter, since gannondorf's down-air countered is almost always an instant kill. Yet Marth's is not. Is counter not mentioned for a reason, or is it just that competitive players don't believe it is a useful move? Sylvanelite (talk) 01:17, July 22, 2010 (UTC)
- Also, why don't many competetive players use his neutral special for edgeguarding? Logically, it is a good edgeguarder, is it not? Mr. Anon teh awsome 02:03, July 22, 2010 (UTC)
- Blazer is used in effectively the same way between marth and Roy. Counter is not. In the article there is heavy emphasis on his DED, and specifically the ability to stop approaches using it. While I don't doubt this this a good use of DED, it comparatively shuts down Roy's ability to use counter. Here are the exact lines that stand out to me: "that Roy has too much trouble trying to kill his opponents, being effectively weaker, and that Marth, with his superior combos and killers, can kill much more easily." ..."Roy's gameplay emphasizes his strengths and attempts to make his weaknesses as unnoticeable as possible. This means a heavy reliance on his DED, grab, down tilt and forward smash." ..."It is fast, can combo with itself, variable, and has decent knockback on the third hit, and good knockback on the fourth."
- These three things are almost contradictory. They point out that Roy has weaker combos, and a harder time comboing, and that his weaknesses need to be made unnoticeable, and then that his most used move focuses on combos. If Roy's weaknesses are to be hidden, his playstyle needs to be separated from combos, and he needs to set up kill moves. Counter does both of these things. Although I won't push the point, because it's basically my opinion against everyone else, and I know how futile trying to sell that is, but just saying it. Reliance on DED combos is a good way for Marth players to use Roy, but I don't believe it is the best way for Roy players to use Roy. But there are so few Roy players, this is almost a null point. Roy in Brawl
I noticed this a few months ago. On the back of the disc case for Brawl, where it mentions Final Smashes, the guy on the left looks strangely like Roy. On the article, look for a picture of Roy's palette swaps and compare the red cape palette and the disc case picture. Also, the appearance of the Mario Finale (it looks nothing like the real one) shows that the picture is a beta screenshot, so it is very possible that Roy really is in the picture. - I think thats just Ike in his red costume, the knockback animation also seems to be Ike's--Shaun's Wiji Dodo talk 17:34, 27 February 2011 (EST)
