Special Brawl and Special Smash are versus modes available in Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, respectively. It is a successor to the Special Melee mode from Super Smash Bros. Melee. It does not appear in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS, but many of the Final Battles in Smash Run enable one of the options seen in Special Smash; additionally, voice clip 83 of the announcer in the sound test is of him saying "Special Smash", suggesting that the mode was cut during development.
