:Hmmm. There is no real strategy. Find a strategy guide to figure out what counters Marth or how to better use your character(s). == 2 of Marth's Smash Attacks ==
More often than not, when I do an f-smash or a d-smash, the stem hits the foe. Right you are, hun, about it being hard to sweetspot with the tip. That's why Marth is not my main character, but he's nevertheless cool with me. If there was a secret to tipping his smash attacks more often, and I'm not saying there is one, it'd be this: when you stand approximately 3 inches from the foe, the down-smash has a good chance of hitting at the tip there. At approximately 4 inches, the tip from the f-smash could land. Of course, who could precisely space the two characters these distances? Nobody, so this "secret" may not be practical in any match, right? Lili Rochefort 1965 (talk) 01:09, 2 January 2011 (EST)
:There's no real way to measure something in real life units in Brawl. Likewise, there's no real "secret" to tipping consistently other than learning how to space properly. But even then, non tipped hits are going to be much more common than tipped ones. <span style="font-family:Edwardian Script ITC; font-size:12pt"><span style="color:forestgreen">Omega</span> <span style="color:forestgreen">Tyrant</span></span> 01:39, 2 January 2011 (EST)
:: There´s no secret to hit the tip in opponents (especially because every character have different standing positions, heights and weights, for example, its much more easy to hit his dair with the tip of the sword in Bowser then Kirby) only good spacing, like Omega Tyrant said. So, resuming, it´s impossible to do a measure that works for every single character. Zero (talk) 07:35, 2 January 2011 (EST)
:::Yes, that's what I thought. Oh, well. It's better to hit at the stem than not to land the attack at all. Sometimes I'll get lucky and tip these attacks in battle, but truthfully speaking, I have better luck tipping his up-smash. ::::In Brawl, the u-smash doesn't has a distinct tipper hitbox. It had multiple hitboxes, and besides the minor 4% hitboxes on the far edges of his sword, none are significantly stronger than the others. <span style="font-family:Edwardian Script ITC; font-size:12pt"><span style="color:forestgreen">Omega</span> <span style="color:forestgreen">Tyrant</span></span> 18:53, 5 January 2011 (EST)
Ken Combo
The Ken Combo is not guaranteed or feasible in Brawl much to my own disgust
What the heck?! I just saw some examples of some players performing Ken Combo in Brawl on YouTube & it still exist. And now I find it a bit difficult to perform than in melee, because a tipped forward air sends horizontally instead of vertical & down air has a smaller sweet spot. It works at certain percentage depends if u land a tipped or non tipped forward air. I found that it is feasible in Brawl & it is almost guranteed. Don't assume that Ken Combo does not exist. Just look it up on the video and you see how it is done in brawl with Marth with different variation. 98.226.164.41 01:18, 16 February 2013 (EST)
:I never said the Ken Combo doesn't exist. I said it wasn't feasible. Feasible means it can be done reliably and given Brawl's lack of hitstun it is certainly not guaranteed. I can just DI the non-tipper forward air and just jump or air dodge away. I have seen the videos you're talking about. Some youtube players getting lucky doesn't mean anything when the Ken Combo is rarely seen in tournament sets. Present better evidence than youtube videos. Show me a smashboards thread detailing exact percentages and frame data to prove for certain that it is guaranteed. Or better yet, why don't you put yourself in contact with actual experts who play the game. I've talked to a professional Brawl player, Mr. R, who advised against going for Ken Combos simply because it cannot be done consistently unless the opponent is stupid and not watching.--<span style="background-color:#6d84e1;border:3px solid silver"><span style="color:silver">Brian</span><span style="color:black">Don't try me!</span></span> 01:47, 16 February 2013 (EST)
