Despite the fact that this would cause numerous problems, I think the character part could be like the wi-fi thing, when they make a new one, you can either keep one or replace yours with the new one. It has to be kept to one character or it would cause a character selection screen to look like those shopped ones that have like 100 characters and make it look very dirty. :Very unlikely. An entire character with model, animations, and attack data would take up far too much space, make wifi battles impossible, and having the one-at-a-time deal would bring too many complaints. - Gargomon251 02:44, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
Using data compression it could take roughly 1/2 the amount of data to make a whole character. The character data could take about 16MB of data or less. Another thing, characters can be released in bundles of 5. If the new characters cause collision errors, patches can be downloadable.
To help the cause a little bit, I have heard speculation of the release of a USB Wii Hard Drive, as well as the Virtual Console release of Gamecube and Dreamcast games soon after. In spite of Nintendo's goal of keeping Wii small and simple, an upgrade of some sort is inevitable (be it Hard Drive, Rumble-enabled Nunchuck, or Rice Cooker), just like a new Wii color.Pieguy 00:52, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
It would be a great idea, but highly impossible because of the things listed above. It's a great concept, new character's stages, that aren't custom, and even maybe additions to the current characters. User:Marth117 28 March 2008 (UTC)
*I'm pretty sure I read somewhere in an interview that they had no plans of that, unfortunately. I agree as well, Nintendo should deinitely follow the lead of Microsoft and Sony and include downloadable content, New characters would be awesome! but if the wii just can't handle they could always add costumes to curren characters that appear to be other characters from the same game. Like the way peach has that costume that makes her look like daisy. I don't know about you guys but I would yoyally use a krystal costume if they made it for fox, and wouldn't slippy be an awesome wario clone?Super G 01:22, 15 April 2008 (UTC)Super G
If Nintendo is going to release updates or other downloadable content for brawl there is also a huge possibility of
balancing patches and glitch fixes. The exploitation of glitches is a smashing tradition, in most PC games this
patching is standard practice, though it will be annoying because even the smallest change in knock back angle or distance
can screw up a combo. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Knifeblade (talk • contribs) 22:46, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
It would take dozens of 3-D and Sound entities to create a whole new character, and yes. It would take up way too much space. And in order to get those playable characters, you would need characters who didn't have trophies in the game. Wow. That might not even be possible unless the character was "That one monkey from that one Mario Party game who doesn't have a name so his trophy isn't there." Because if there was a trophy of a character already in the games memory, it could be gained by coin launcher before or after the character had been downloaded. So downloadable content is a dream that won't come true until they release a Wii with so much memory it won't even be slightly slow if this versions entire memory capacity was filled into this wonderous gaming machine.XXXXX 16:17, 21 April 2008 (UTC)

Do you know how much data is needed to make a single character? The character data was already embedded into the game, so the rest of the data was actually shared with the characters, whereas it would create a huge rift to add downloadable content if the game wasn't able to add downloadable content in the first place. See? It's not the character data exactly itself that takes up so much data, it's the ability for the game to download itself. Of course, to download stuff like pictures, replays, and stage builder data, which actually takes less data in the first place, is possible right now because the game was programmed to do that. It was not programmed to be able to download characters. Case closed. XXXXX 17:05, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

With the use of Nintendo's Wii Ware section in the Shop Channel, a number of things could happen, right? Well, I am wondering something very important. What if Ninty used the service to release new characters for Brawl that didn't make the final cut the first time? What if they released new level editing parts and N64 Stages?
However, based on Nintendo's business oriented manner, I doubt this would ever go past the drawing board.
I admit this came to mind because I was looking forward to using Tails and Knuckles in Brawl, but consider what I said for a moment —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pieguy (talkcontribs) 02:21, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

Very unlikely. An entire character with model, animations, and attack data would take up far too much space, make wifi battles impossible, and having the one-at-a-time deal would bring too many complaints. - Gargomon251 02:44, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
