A ground attack as an attack made while the character is standing on the ground, as opposed to [[aerial attack]]s which are performed while the character is airborne. Both [[Special Move]]s and normal attacks can be ground attacks. Some attacks behave differently when performed as ground attacks. An example of this is [[Link]]'s [[Up Special Move]], which can be charged (starting in Melee) if performed on the ground.
