:As I stated under the "Digimon" discussion on this very talk page, the issue with adding that franchise is whether the virtual pet is supposed to seen as a video game or as a standard toy, and the same applies to ''Tamagotchi'' (the fact that both originally came from a toy company doesn't help either). Sure, there are ''Tamagotchi'' video games, but the virtual pets are never considered to be part of that group. Maybe someday Sakurai or ''Smash'' itself can provide a definitive answer, but for now, I think it's best to keep them off for the time being. | |||
