This stage is loosely based {{s|mariowiki|Cavern of the Metal Cap}}, a secret area in ''{{s|supermariowiki|Super Mario 64}}''. It can be accessed within the {{s|mariowiki|Hazy Maze Cave}} level by jumping into a pool of liquid metal hidden behind a set of double doors in the Underground Lake area of the cave. Upon entering the cavern, [[Mario]] will transform into his [[metal]] power-up form for a short time.
