NorCal is at present most famous for the {{b|GENESIS|tournament series}} tournaments, considered the premiere grassroots ''Smash'' supermajor today and one of the most iconic and prestigious tournament series in history. Its ''Melee'' scene is dominated by the "NorCal trio", consisting of three of the best players in the United States: {{Sm|PewPewU}}, {{Sm|SFAT}}, and {{Sm|Shroomed}}.
