I never really understood why it was that important to keep wiki pages under 32 KB. Is it because it takes a long time to load? Is it because of space and storage issues? :Historically, certain browsers had a bug/feature where they only accomodated enough memory to save 32kB worth of text in text boxes. As a result, saving a page with more than that amount would just cut off anything beyond the 32kB point. I don't think it's still a relevant limitation of any proper modern browser, and section editing is a workaround if it's an actual problem, but I recall it occuring not too long ago (probably some mobile browser), so it's probably still at least partly relevant. I would call it a "soft limit"; if a page needs to be longer (e.g. a list), then fine, but it feels like a good point where shortening or splitting should probably be considered.
