There is a separate template for Rosalina's moveset (MvSubNavRosalina), and I just made a different template for Luma's moveset (MvSubNavLuma). But the problem that just occurred to me is that neither of these would link to the main page for Rosalina & Luma, so the information wouldn't be easily accessible. Should I make a new template for Rosalina & Luma and have you delete the other two templates? Or should I just continue making the two as separate characters? ::As was I for that very same reason. I am also concerned about it ever getting done. I can certainly take care of the hitbox gifs if you can find source where I can find them, but the descriptions and frame data are going to have to be someone else. We should seriously revisit the idea we discussed on my talk page earlier. I think it would be a good idea for the wiki. Miles' suggestion wasn't a bad one, either. ==Re: Corrin's gender==
Your argument that we should go with the default is valid, but I don't think we should stringently enforce that rule. After all, the FE wiki does not do this: https://fireemblemwiki.org/wiki/Corrin. Neither did Kurogane Hammmer: http://kuroganehammer.com/Smash4/Corrin. Nor Nintendo: https://youtu.be/Eq1Xzycyp2E?t=1107. It's absolutely unconventional, but I think it would be a good look for the website if we used Female Corrin as the default, especially since it contrasts nicely with the Male Robin writeup. It's not even just about popularity either; pretty much everyone defaults to Corrin as a girl. Commentators do this, Corrin mains do this, etc. Also I added new content, and I would hate to see it go to waste. :First off, new posts go on the bottom, not the top. Second:
::After all, the FE wiki does not do this
::The Fire Emblem wiki does not follow this rule because in terms of the game itself, one gender isn't held over the other (additionally, the female is not the specific one chosen. It's under a randomizing timer that switches between male and female, rendering this argument null).
::Neither did Kurogane Hammmer
::That's simply because, while it is a source of information, it was not intended by any means to be professional. It's intended as a game fan's frame data repository. You can also see this is the case because Lucas is labelled as "Ridley" on the site, Bayonetta's picture is replaced with one of Sakurai, and Corrin's picture is an Arceus.
::Nor Nintendo | |||
::They just use female Corrin in marketing because it sells. Put yourself in the shoes of someone working in a big company. You're definitely more likely than not to use the characters that sells, whether they're officially accepted or not. I would also leave Nintendo out of this too because we are not an official wiki. Therefore, we will not always do it Nintendo's way.
:Now, I'm not sure why this was agreed upon, but it was decided back when SSB4 first came out that all characters with multi-gender costumes must be referred to by their default gender, so it doesn't matter to us if everyone's defaulting to female Corrin. If you have a problem with that, I'd say your best course of action is to go to Corrin's talk page and try to put a change to a vote. I do appreciate the fact that you actually signed, though. It's not often I see a new user who can actually figure that out first try. <span style="color:Green; text-shadow: 0px 0px 3px green">Disaster</span> <span style="color:Blue;text-shadow:0px 0px 3px blue">Flare</span> <span style="color:SkyBlue;text-shadow:0px 0px 3px skyblue">(talk)</span> 11:54, 23 January 2017 (EST)
::With all due respect, I think you're missing my point. I wasn't trying to say that we should change the writeup because of the examples I listed (though I honestly had no idea that the fe wiki switched between, my bad). Rather, I used those examples to illustrate that "going with the default" isn't always the best idea or something that most people even do.
:::They just use female Corrin in marketing because it sells.
::I am well aware of the appeal of using what sells, but that's not the only reason. Think about why it sells. Female Corrin is a refreshing contrast to the usual male FE lord. And I think we can tap into that by with the wiki (seeing as how the vast majority of smash are male). Sure, we don't make decisions based on popularity, but i'd argue that this isn't a popularity thing. It relates to the very culture of Smash; people like female Corrin more and largely see "Corrin" as the female character. I think the wiki should reflect these sentiments. We don't need to copy Nintendo (and I never implied we should) but I think they were onto something when they used Corrin as the default. And thanks. I really wanted you to take me seriously so I tried to follow all the rules (but I still screwed up, heh) FlamesofRevolution (talk) 12:30, 23 January 2017 (EST)
:::I'm not shooting down your opinion by any means, I'm just saying that's the rules that were set in stone. I really can't give you the go ahead for a change this big, whether I liked the idea or not. Like I said, if you are absolutely dead-set on making this change, the best way to go about it is going to Corrin's talk page and attempt to put it to a vote. I can't guarantee what the outcome will be, but I think more people involved could give a better idea of what the community wants. == Looks like you might need a new admin. ==
I know this is an irrelevant post Trip, but I don't know why people are going on SmashWiki just to troll the newest and most active admin on here. I feel like this place needs another admin, more specifically Poultry, who in my opinion would make a good admin. :Whether or not he makes a good candidate, I have no control over who gets to be admin.
