While Mario has some strengths, he has many glaring flaws. His poor KO potential in ''Melee'' has been further decreased, as his movement options are less effective now. However, Mario's most glaring flaw is his poor reach. While Mario does have a projectile, the rest of his attacks are very short ranged. Coupled with Mario's sub-par speed, he has difficulty landing hits on his enemies. His recovery is mediocre at best. While Super Jump Punch is fast, it is very predictable and makes Mario very vunerable to gimps. His grab game, while good, is rendered less effective by his short grab.
