I can't play Brawl atm, and I remembered you like testing stuff; can you check what happens if you try hitting a character with a paralyzing move more than once before they land (or grab a ledge)? Because in Smash 4, the move in such case only damages them (no knockback or paralysis), but in Ultimate it was changed so it also deals knockback (still without paralysis).
