:Not NPM, but I generally look at the national tournaments to determine whether "professional" or "semi-professional" fits better. Generally, if there's a good placement at the stacked tournaments it warrants the professional status (say, 65/3,534 is better than 65/160). On the other hand, if the player consistently places well at regionals, then the smasher deserves the professional status. Finally, top player wins also show that the Smasher has potential to defeat some of the best, so if a player has several PGR player wins outside of locals, I believe they deserve the status.
:The main difference that JN and Ace have with RockstarAce is that they have better consistency, whether it's on a national or regional level. RockstarAce's national placements range from 17th to 385th and do tend to be on the weaker side, and his regional placement is limited but workable. I did take a look at the more local results and RockstarAce seems to do pretty fine locally, plus he has wins over some PGR players, so I don't see a big problem giving him a professional status.
