Another less common way to perform dash attacks is to tilt the [[C-Stick]] down (''Brawl'' and ''SSB4'' only) or forward with it set to either Smash or Tilt after initiating the dash; this can be more useful as it allows the player to instantly use a dash attack during the first frames after tapping the Control Stick to dash, without accidentally performing a [[forward smash]].
