Spike Tops (トゲメット, Togemetto) are enemies from the Mario series.
Origin
Spike Tops are recurring enemies in the Mario games, first appearing in Super Mario World. They are similar to Buzzy Beetles in appearance, except their shell is red instead of blue and has a spike in its center; Spike Tops can also walk on walls and ceilings instead of only walking on the ground. Like Buzzy Beetles, Spike Tops are unaffected by fireballs, hence their immunity to projectiles in Smash Run.
In Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS
In Smash Run
While Spike Tops appear as enemies, they do not directly attack the player. Touching the spike on their back deals 4% damage and high knockback, and if touched when pointing downward causes a meteor smash. Similar to Geemers, they are capable of walking on walls. Spike Tops are immune to projectiles unless they are first knocked prone, but are always vulnerable to grabs and throws.
