Fireside Open 2017 was a large collegiate LAN event hosted by Rutgers Esports at the College Avenue Student Center in New Brunswick, NJ. It featured a wide variety of competitive gaming tournaments, including brackets for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Super Smash Bros. Melee. It was sponsored by Twitch, Discord, Tespa, and Controller Chaos among others, and served as the second largest Smash 4 tournament of the New Jersey Power Rankings' Fall 2017 season.
