It featured singles and doubles for ''[[Super Smash Bros. Melee]]'' and, for the first time in MLG history, {{forwiiu}}, featuring a $10,000 prize pot for both, alongside other games. It is the 100th overall MLG tournament, including tournaments that did not feature Smash games. This tournament was notably the end of {{Sm|ZeRo}}'s 55 tournament win streak at {{forwiiu}}.
