- I am not an expert, but I believe hyper armor means that the attack is heavily guarded against offensive attacks.  I should know!  When I was fighting DK once with Sonic, we both did our round up punches and punched at the same time.  DK recieved the full damage but did not get any knockback while I ended up being knocked out!  Dk's giant punch really protects him from big smashes!  LOAP
-Hyper Armor or Super Armor is a move that has one or more frames where if they are attacked by someone during those frames they will recieve full damage from the attack but no knock back
