Though active in ''[[Super Smash Bros. Brawl]]'', Gackt first became known in {{forwiiu}}, where he was considered Japan's best {{SSB4|Ness}} player and was infamous for his [[PK Thunder 2]] reads. Though inconsistent throughout his career, he was known for many great performances such as his run to 5th at {{Trn|Umebura 14}}, defeating {{Sm|Abadango}} at {{Trn|Rikabura 8}}, and defeating {{Sm|Tsu}} at {{Trn|Umebura 28}}. Internationally, he became known for placing 17th at {{Trn|The Big House 7}}, where he defeated {{Sm|ANTi}}, {{Sm|Mistake}}, and {{Sm|Locus}}. Though he was never ranked on a global ranking, many players considered him one of the best ''Smash 4'' Ness players in the world, especially in the game's final year.

Gackt relies on both [[PK Thunder]] and [[PK Fire]] to create [[mindgame]]s and devastating ledgetraps, allowing him to apply constant pressure and close out stocks quickly.
